What is Kaffarah al-Yameen (Broken Oath expiation)?
For breaking a sworn oath, the Muslim must choose one of: (1) Feed 10 needy people half a Saa' each (~1.25 kg), (2) Clothe 10 needy people, or (3) Free a slave. If unable to do any of these three, they must fast 3 consecutive days.
What is the Kaffarah for deliberately breaking the Ramadan fast?
This is the most severe Kaffarah and must be done in order: (1) Free a believing slave; if unable, (2) Fast 60 consecutive days; if unable, (3) Feed 60 needy people. Moving to a lower tier is only permitted with genuine inability.
